Child Protection
Little League requires every chartered league to follow core child protection policies to help keep children safe. Protecting players is our highest priority.
Policies in place
Annual Background Checks
All volunteers complete annual background checks through J.D. Palatine.
Abuse Awareness Training
Required for all volunteers before assuming duties.
Mandatory Reporting
All volunteers are mandatory reporters of suspected abuse.
Non-Retaliation Policy
Anyone reporting concerns in good faith is protected.
One-on-One Interaction Policy
All adult and minor interactions must be observable and interruptible.

LA Pine Hawks Little League maintains a formal Emergency Action Plan (EAP) that is reviewed with volunteers and coaches each season.

Every team has a first aid kit available at games and practices.

Batting Helmets
All helmets must be:

The league monitors AQI using Oregon DEQ data.
AQI 100-150
Activities may continue with reduced intensity.
AQI 151-200
Activities modified and monitored closely.
AQI 201+
Outdoor activities may be cancelled.
Concession Stand Safety
All concession workers must:

Children under 14 are not allowed inside concession areas.
Training & Education
Required training includes:

Accident Reporting
All injuries must be reported within 24 hours.
Incident reports are submitted to the League Safety Officer and documented using the official Little League incident tracking form.

Little League safety rules include:

Parent 24 Hour Rule
Parents may not confront coaches or umpires immediately after games.
Concerns must wait 24 hours before discussion.
Concerns about umpires must go through the coach or board.
